I bought a Karbonn Tablet to use it for video calling via Skype. However, I was indeed disappointed when customer care confirmed that it does not support Skype. I tried pre-installed Google Talk version 4.0.3 which is meant for voice and video chat, unfortunately, even Gtalk is not serving the purpose. Attempted to download and install other voice/video chat apps like Tango, even those didn’t work as the tablet is not compatible with any of the video calling apps. Please suggest appropriate video calling apps which is compatible with the Karbonn Tablet. Thanks. |

Hello Moderator, Can I ask you a question. I know you’ve removed my previous review. Why is it that Karbonn is not giving any support to its customers. There are several people who got issues with their tablet and there is no response from Karbonn. What am I supposed to do with the tab, throw it garbage can? Since you got this website promoting Karbonn smart tab, you should have some responsibility to inform Karbonn to provide some support to customers. No response by email, toll free numbers and service centers deny any support for the smart tab. You cannot just get a tablet from China, brand it and sell it in India like that without any support. You please check other forums, there are lots of helpless customers looking for support. Please reply to my mail ID. |

If you looking at this Tablet as a gaming console then forget about it. Specs look only good on paper, in real its a joke. Majority of the HD games are not supported. |

I got the Karbonn smart tab 2 days back and I’m pretty much disappointed with it. Following the cons and pros that I found out, let me first start with Cons Cons Pros Conclusion. You’ve to make a lot of compromises with these budget tablets. Micromax and HCL Me are almost similar to Karboon smart tab and will have almost all of the cons that I’ve mentioned above. Please do not have any high expectations from these budget tablets. |
If your tablet is not working and you are looking to get it repaired then check out the nearest service center.
If these complains made you think whether to buy the Karbonn tab or not, then check out the new Karbonn ST4 Tablet which is supposed to be released in September and will run on latest Android 4.1 OS.
Sir, I have just purchased Karbonn Smart Tab 1 yesterday but the 3G Dongle not yet been detected by your instrument. Please clarify whether the Dongle model MF 190 ZTE is compatible to yours instrument or otherwise.
I will have to return the instrument by tomorrow afternoon, if it is not compatible too.
I bought this Karbon smart tablet one week before , but i am not able to make video calling using google talk, if any body knows any solution please reply.
My appeal to anyone who want to buy Karbonn smart tab is think very hard and set your priorities right. If you want it just bor ebook reading, net surfing and movies its ok, good battery backup and wifi support. But, what they don’t tell you is its based on MIPS processor rather than ARM. MIPS is not registered to google play, and most apps are arm based which means its incompatible to most of apps are android application and major drawback is no video calling, no skype. I was so frustrated with this tablet, I sold it after 10 days suffering 2000 rs loss. So be very sure what you are buying. I would never buy Karbonn again. Say this to your friends too, spread the word, don’t let these guys con any more customers.
Then , Is there any thing we can do like legal actions regarding this issues
why all the negitive issues are comming, i bought the karbon smart tab it is very good i tried to connect the Reliance 3G, TATA DOCOMO, IDEA, MTS dongles even some local connections also it is easily connected, it never hanged up, the charging is up to 6 hrs,

NEVER EXPECT ALL THE REQUIRMENTS IN ONE IT MAY BE BEYOND EXPETATIONS
I am glad here that your tab is connected to all dongle, my karbonn tab is not connecting to any dongle, kindly suggest me how connect to internet through dongle & is there any settings.

Hi Everybody, I recently bought This Karbonn smarttab1 in Bangalore. I too experiencing simillar kind of problem in my day to day handling. Did anybody tried to use HDMI output and which kind of plug to be used?? this product has some input and output holes but HDMI output plugs were not provided with the tab pack.
Can anybody suggest me how to use that HDMI output with TV or other devices??
Which kind cable to be used??

Buy HDMI cable & connect it to the TV, it would work fine.
my tab tollay hangs when connected to power charge and also hangs when i open skype it hangs
i have a karbon smart tablet1 , actually i have a problem to use it because the tablet is locked by pattern system and one of my friend try to unlocked so many times , then the tablet shown the message ( too many pattern attempts , to unlock sign in with google account ) but i cant access the internet , how can i unlock the tablet ???

If you cannot access internet, then your only option might be to reset the tab.
To reset, press ‘power key’+ ‘menu key’ together and after some time release power key

I suggest you remove the 3G dongle supported from the website and the Specification.

I have been trying to use this table for some time table for a month now however this has been a complete disappointment, I I’m unable to use skype or any other vice char applications not just this it does not support most of the apps on play store and is a total waste. Hope some one there is listening and will make the right patch upgrades to make it work
My karbonn tab is powered off automatically and is not ready to start by long pressing power button.please give me solution if anybody knows
Try to reset it.
Near the microphone port there is a small hole. Put a needle into that and your tablet will be reset to factory settings.
I got a Karbonn Smart Tab… For me, its worth a buy, though many apps are not supported in Google Play Store..
Still I installed,
Yahoo messenger (can make voice & video calls)
Skype
Temple Run (worked slow, so uninstalled it)
& few other apps.. Worked without any problem
Tried connected dongles.. Reliance, Tata, Airtel, Aircel.. Worked fine.. Not sure about BSNL dongle
I had some problems initially, but got it rectified by visiting the service center. Incase, you are finding any problem, get your tab updated, by visiting your nearest Karbonn Service Center.
Drawbacks:
No Bluetooth
Battery Backup is not good
Not many apps from Google Play supported
Hangs sometimes
Overall.. Worth a buy, if you are looking for a normal & simple use.

hi guys just 3 days back i got this smart tab its really amazing tab.you people why your giving negative feed back about this tablet because you are just spending RS 6500 on it this tablet is 10 times better than HCL,MICROMAX.karbonn tab is getting 6hrs of battery life on video but hcl and micromax getting more than 4 half hrs plz dont give negative feedback about this karbonn tab if you want more specifications then go for SAMSUNG or APPLE(IPAD)
The only one app which supporting for video calls till today is skype, that too not working from today , when i chekced in google play store all video chat apps showing that this karbonn smart tab 1 not compatible. Pls help if any body can able to do video chat with karbonn smart tab1.
please any one suggest me how to connect any 3g dongle to smart tab 2 .. its sayin that “intializing failed try to reconnect the tab” even though i have tried many times .the rply is same. but the modem is gettting detected..after i have connected it is showing 3g modem detected. but in 3g manager it is showin “intializing failed” . plz frndz suggest me what to do.. this tab is useless to me now.
I have purchased new Karbonn Smart Tab 2 in my tablet my screen sensitibility is is not working from wireless mouse I have gone in settings but their is nothing for unlock it I have reset my tablet but nothing is happen .Plz suggest me what to do ..and how i will bring its sensitibility again……..
I purchased Karbonn ST3 on 11th November 2012. One of the reason for my purchasing a tablet was to make video calls. However I find that although the tablet has a front facing 1.3 MP camera for video calls, I am not able to make video calls using Skype / gtalk / yahoo messenger. May be this tablet does not support video calls? Wonder what is the use of front facing camera?
